  1. Okay, so tuesdays and thursdays are my early morning (5:30am) workouts, and generally, they are really bad, my times are long and my lifts are weak--I love 6pm, it is the perfect time for me to workout--and this morning was no exception.

I wasn't even 5 seconds into my warm-up when I knew that the force was not with me. I was dizzy, my body felt heavy, and felt like I was just in a funk, blah. Then I hit the metcon, I couldn't even clean 185# once, kinda funny since I pretty much killed it a few nights ago. So I dropped the weight to 155# and got through the first round--not sure if I am catching something or what, but it wasn't happening this morning.

So DNFed the metcon, finished the last 2 sets of the front squats at 155
    2)Did the snatches at 115#
3)did a few warmup sets of the RDLs and stopped at a set of 10 at 235#, now I wish I would have tried another set or two at 265+ since I knew I could get it.

I don't want to sound like a whiner, but thought I would throw it out there since we all have off days, and it feels good to vent a bit.

    Good luck to everyone else.

  2. I hear ya Todd! I was having a mental battle for today as well. In the CF Certification it was mentioned that working out at different times periodically was part of the "constantly varied" equation of Crossfit. I definitely get a better workout in early a.m. I don't know how you do it at 6p.m. That's Crossfit though.....being able to get through it whenever it comes your way! You don't sound like a whiner- I was trying to think of any other possible workout to do other than this one....the heavy weights and pull-ups just weren't what I was wanting I guess! Anyhow, went to do a row workout and opened my wod book- to my dismay I had already written today's wod in- so with that and Andy's encouragement I toughed it out:
    1. 16:17 used 105# and did ring rows (have the beginning of a tear from yesterday)
    2. used 45#
    3. worked up to 165# felt good!

    1. Thanks for the thoughts Shelly and good job getting it done! Glad Andy was there to push you through, I wonder if I would have been able to push through if Rand had showed up as planned, peer pressure can be positive as long as you keep you ego in check.

That is one reason I keep going with the 5:30, figure its good to mix it up and I can't clog up every evening with working out.

Not feeling well still though, so looks like I'm sick, which stinks, but is good that I didn't back slide somehow over the Wed. recovery day :).

  3. Nice Job in the snatches and the DL Todd. You'll get that wod another day. Don't sweat it.
    Did today's wod Rx.
    11:30.
Front squats unbroken on 1st round, 5,3,2 on round 2 and 3. Those are what worried me. Pull-ups and DU felt good.
Clean and jerk OTM x 10 at 165
    No deadlifts. Tired and tired.

  4. I did this one on thursday and was feeling the same as you, Shelly, I wasn't looking forward to the heavy front squats. Way to plan ahead and stick to the WOD shelly.
I took me sweet time with this one 24 something was my time. 130# 0n the FS and a single red band on the chest 2 bar.
    2. 60# on the snatches, they are feeling better,
    3. 180# on the romanian DL, felt heavy.
