Shelly, responding to your go at the Bench press yesterday. After doing this programming for some weeks, I've really liked it and have seen improvement. However, I too look up at the regional WOD and wonder how I would do and what improvements I would see--especially since it focuses on strength a bit more than the open WOD. Obviously I wouldn't pull the weights they do, but crossfit is totally scalable and I wish I had time a few days a week to assign to regional days. Particularly, given the programming philosophy, Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Oh well, guess moderation in all things, eh.
Way to go on all of your strength workouts today Andy! You always make it look so easy. Todd- the amount of volume they do in those Regional workouts is insane....frankly even if I wanted to do those, I don't think I have the time!! I figure if I can add a piece of their strength in here and there it couldn't hurt right??? Soooo......Andy and I are anxiously awaiting your post on how "The Seven" workout goes for you Todd! There it is...I called you out- now you have to do it! lol I'm sure you're planning on it- just have to throw a little trash talk out there :) Jayna- I cannot even imagine back squatting 240#- I think my spine would crush trying to hold it on my back! Super strong!! Today: 1. "Jerry": 28:42 (this was terrible, my first run over 800m at a time since Max) My goal was sub 30min....so I guess I should be happy. Felt like I had a weight vest on. It will be nice to run again after dropping the extra weight :/ 2. Snatch Technique OTM X 12 @ 75%: used 53# felt good 3. Front Squat 3 x 5: 115, 125, 130 (felt myself come forward a tad on the last 2 reps) Looking forward to tomorrow's! I've got to get up super early to get it in before Andy leaves for work. Max's schedule is still a little unpredictable!
I haven't done this wod yet and I always forget the comments I wanted to say when I'm posting my workouts. Shelly- It's nice to get back to running huh? Good job on your time. Nice weight with the benches too. Babies are only little for a short time. I remember when it was me with a baby and trying to get workouts in and you with the toddler. It will get easier. Great job getting up early to get it done.
