Tuesday 3.19.13 WOD

  1. Okay, back. We spent the weekend at the hospital again, our oldest was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes--guess he saw the other two and felt left out or something.

    Last night I did:
    10 minute ladder
    1 rep power clean @165 w/2" axle
    1 rep burpee
    Then 2/2, 3/3, 4/4 etc….until the 10 minute cap.
    Got in 7 rounds exactly

    This was awesome,really recommend it. The axle makes these killer, so I am sure that some of the later PC looked pretty ugly, but I kept my form through my back strong--but my sternum is a bit sore since I didn't get my elbows up fast enough on some.

    1. Wow Todd- I'm sorry about Kinson. Geez, you've guys have had quite the go of it lately! Hope everyone is doing better. That sounds like a great workout- what is the "axle" you're talking about? Is it just a thicker bar to grip? Sounds interesting! Say "hi" to Jayna and the kids for us :) Hope to see more comments from you!

  2. Ok had to do my own workout today in the hotel room...
    3 rounds of
    AMRAP 2 burpees
    10 air squats
    15 box jumps(step-ups for me)
    10 air squats

    got it done but did not count reps... no way to keep track when I got tired...:}
    looking forward to Wednesday !!

  3. Two hours after doing today's posted WOD and I was beat. The thrusters kicked my butt! I just had to concentrate on form and get through it.

  4. Another tough WOD! As if yesterday's WOD
    AND warm-up wasn't enough of a butt kicker!

    My back was acting up a little, so I started with
    15 lb dumbells in each hand for thrusters, but
    had to switch to 20 lb dumbell using both hands.

    Sure helps a lot to be able to make modifications!
    Also the 8:00am class did 10 rounds for time
    instead of AMRAP 20.

    I'll be taking tomorrow OFF! :)

  6. Finally took the opportunity to hit the 13.2 WOD.
    AMRAP 10
    5 STOH (115, 75)
    10 Deadlifts
    15 Box Jumps (24, 20)
    Total: 221 rx
    Andy cheered me on. Watched Andy do another WOD with a ridiculous amount of burpees. If you've never seen him do burpees...you don't know what your missing- it's ridiculous how fast and steady he does them! It's crazy!!!
    He did:
    5 Rounds for time
    20 Burpees
    15 Hang Power Cleans (135, 95)
    400m Run
    Time: 21:56rx

    Great job today everyone~ you all really dug down and got it done! Kris your thrusters were amazing!! :)

  7. Todd- Nice to have you back. I miss talking cross fit with you. Sorry to hear about Kinson. Has to one up his younger brothers. That looks like a brutal workout you did. Never tried a 2" axle bar before. Sounds like your still hitting it hard. I look forward to reading your posts!
