Tuesday 1.22.13

We are on the home stretch for the zone challenge.  Nine days left!  I am very proud of you guys for sticking out the 30 days so far.  It both inspires and pushes me to see your workouts and comments posted to the blog.  Here at your/our garage gym we do/will/should push, motivate, and encourage one another so we can all become more fit both physically and mentally.  Keep moving forward!

15 pushups

  1. Today's work out was awsome. The 15 reps 10 rounds was a killer. But I made it thru.

  2. Okay, I thought yesterday's Push Presses were over the top but today's dead lifts were, well, hell. I knew I was in trouble when Shelly said that 95lbs would be easy until around the 7th round. Well, when round 1 started, I knew immediately I was in trouble. You can mentally get through a workout if you are close to the finish line but what do you do when you are in trouble right out of the gate? Well, I had to think this long and hard during the first round and my strategy at the start of round 2 was to take my time and just finish it at all costs. No way to sugar coat it, this was not going to be a good workout day. I think this it what Nike means by, "Just Do it". Should have worn that shirt today!

On my 1 1/2 hr drive to work this morning, I had time to contemplate on the cause of my recent muscle impairment. It came to me, like no other epiphany has before, that I have not had my usual share of electrolytes i.e. WINE for the past few days. I can assure you that wine will be on the table for tonight's dinner!

    2. 10 rounds can be more of a mental challenge than anything. Way to gut it out! Don't medicate too heavily for 5:45 can come awfully quick.

    2. 7 minutes of burpees is pure torture. Especially by yourself in a hotel room. Great job Robyn! Keep up the good work.

    3. Are you insane? 7 minutes of torture, who does that to themselves? Way to go, I'm impressed.

  4. Today I was thinking I would do something light and easy.....ummm...so much for that. I did "Death by Back Squats" used 65#. One rep the first minute...two the second minute...three the third minute and so forth until unable to complete the reps in that minute. Got thru minute 14 + 10 squats. Holy smokes- not easy at all. It ended up totaling 115 squats. This just might show up in the next day or two! ;)

  5. Did the posted wod with Joe at the 9am class. Tough one. Nice job gutting thru the pushups Joe. The kids at the 4pm class (Riley, Shad, and Zach) also did today's wod. They all finished the ten rounds. Riley and Shad completed all 150 HR pushups! Zach was coming off a nasty flu bug and toughed out 70 HR pushups. Way to go guys!
